Fun Family Attractions to Visit in Colorado
Among the many family-friendly attractions in Colorado is the Elitch Gardens Theme Park with so many activities one day will probably not last long enough to enjoy them all. One unique feature of this theme park is that many rides catering to adults and older children offer a counterpart ride only open to younger children. For a thrill, ride the Twister II roller coaster made of wood and featuring a 90 foot descent into a very dark tunnel. Youngsters will enjoy the Cactus Coaster where the thrills are the same but the twists and drops are designed just for them.
You don’t need to go to Disney World or Disney Land to experience the famous Tea Cup ride since Elitch has a Tea Cup one with lots of spins and bumps and curves. Younger kids will enjoy the same experience at Spin Reel.
One special area guaranteed to grab the attention of the whole family is Ghost Blasters where not only a haunted house is waiting but a challenge to beat the ghost at booing to win special rewards!
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is quite different from any other zoo in America since it’s the only one located on the side of a mountain where peacocks and friendly deer are waiting to accompany you to a special area to see giraffes galloping around. Visitors are encouraged to purchase special cracker packets to feed to them. All of the creatures at this zoo live in their natural habitats.
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is more than just mummies and displays of gems and rocks. Expedition Health can be an eye-opening experience for the whole family. A guide-buddy especially selected by each visitor coaches you through experiences such as taking your own electrocardiogram and seeing how your own brain actually works.Still bored?
